Introduction of the Program
@IIR organizes two programs every year - the Summer Program and
the Spring Program - based on its motto; to achieve mutual understanding
and to make a firm friendship with foreign students. The purpose
of the programs is to introduce Japan from various points of views.
To accomplish this, we have a theme for each day; Japanese traditions,
politics&economy, sightseeing, etc. The Program includes company
visits, experiencing traditional crafts of Japan, international
cooking, short trips, parties and lots more.
@The program adopts a Host Family system, which enables the exchange
students to experience being a member of a Japanese family. IIR,
being a non-profit organization of the Keio University Student Body,
cannot afford financial aid for the host families. However, through
the kindness of the families voluntarily willing to host the students,
exchange students will be able to see Japan from another aspect.
@Along with the Host Family system, is the Contact Person system.
Each exchange student has their own contact persons, who help them
as an adviser and a go-between for smooth communication among host
families, exchange students and IIR.
@The programs of IIR are basically operated by the students, for
the students. However, it can be noted that the program is greatly
based on the support of host families, companies, public offices
and people concerned to widen the circle of communication and to
enrich the contents of the program. IIR members proudly take charge
of such daily activities, and hope to continue and develop this
rare occasion in the future.
