SKIP

What's SKIP?

SKIP stands for the Silicon Valley Keio International Program. This is an exchange program between Stanford University students and Keio University students run by the Institute of International Relations(IIR).

It started in 2013 in hopes of reviving a two-way exchange program between Keio and Silicon Valley that ended in the 1970s. Our ultimate goal is to cultivate future global leaders of USA and Japan. During the program, there will be many opportunities to intellectually communicate with SKIP members and our alumni. This year we expand officers to 19 from 6 last year.

SJEC (Stanford Japan Exchange Club), is a counterpart of SKIP, which was established in 1954. It is a student-run organization that plans a month of activities for visiting Japanese university students even nowadays.

During the 15 days of the program, we hope to offer:

  • an establishment of strong bond with Keio students through an unique host-student, host-family system. You can experience the real life of Japanese University students, which will be very hard to do so in a normal intership program or the sightseeing
  • short trip leading you to real insights of Japan
  • fruitful discussion and group work and access to the special places because of support from our alumni.
