Programs

Welcome Party Feb 13th(Sun)

Chief: Mayuko Sonoda
In the party, we'll have a greeting and introduce our own countries to each other. We will show you Japanese Karate. Also, please prepare your presentations on your countries.

Sightseeing Day Feb 14th (Mon)

Chief: Chiari Kono
In the morning, we’re going to go sightseeing in Kamakura and watch the temples and the great Buddha.In the afternoon, we’ll have a lunch and play games in Enoshima island .We have to walk on foot all day, so don’t forget to bring your sneakers!

History and Traditional Day Feb 15th (Tue)

Chief: Yuki Matsuoka
First, we’ll go to Ueno to visit a museum and a shrine. Afterwards, we will hold a custom tea ceremony. At the ceremony, we'd like you to give us a brief presentation about your thoughts on Japanese tradition and culture. Please be looking forward to enjoy the day!

Science and Technology Day Feb 16th (Wed)

Chief: Takafumi Koishi
We're going to visit "Canon" for the company visit. Canon Inc. has High-Technology especially on a digital camera, a printer,etc. We'll have a presentation about the new technology. We'll also go to the museum about science and technology in Odaiba(is very famous place in Tokyo). Let's enjoy the dayI

Japanese Entertainment Day Feb 17th (Thur)

Chief: Megumi Hayakawa
We will go to the sumo stable. There, we’ll watch the sumo wrestlers’ match, actually wrestle with sumo wrestler’s loincloth on, and eat “Chanko-nabe”, Japanese original stew-like dish traditionally eaten by sumo wrestlers. I'm really sorry to say but no girls are allowed to enter the sumo ring on account of traditionD Boys are better to have themself prepared to wrestle with real. It is best for boys to wear something that is suitable for sports and also for girls to bring apron.

Valentines Day Feb 18th (Fri)

Chief: Eriko Yoshida
Do you know St. Valentine's Day?
I mean the JAPANESE one, for Love&Sweets.
We're making confectionery of chocolate and having dates! (Of course, imitational dates.)
I think it is enjoyable to have it in the Japanese way.

Teaching Day Feb 21st (Mon)

Chief: Yu Nakao
We are going to have a day with the elementry school students. Teaching languages and playing games.

Short Trip Feb 22nd (Tue)-23rd (Wed)

Chief: Hirotaro Kato
We’re going to enjoy sightseeing and have cultural experiences and will be playing winter sports.I promise we will make you have a "BIG TRIP"(not ‘’short’’ a trip)
To spend good time, PRICELESS!

International Politics Day Feb 24th (Thur)

Chief: Michiko Kogure
We are going to visit JICA, Tokyo International Center. There, we are going to have a lecture about Japanese international cooperation activities by JICA staff and have discussions about some international issues concerned with Japan.

Cross Culture Day Feb 25th (Fri)

Chief: Masahiro Kato
It is mainly a cooking day. The exchange students are going to cook their countries meals. After lunch, we’re going to introduce you Japanese traditional games. Possibly some exchange students may perform something F) Let's play it together !!

Farewell Party Feb 27th (Sun)

Chief: Kei Koshida
The end of Spring program 2005. We're going to have a greeting from the exchange students and the host families. And we will show slides and video images recollecting the program. Please share your memories!







Bringings


Presentation-Of yourself, your school, your country.
Please prepare something that could be done within 3minutes.We are having your introduction in front of people at the welcome party.If you wish to use the powerpoint, please contact your contact-person.
Formal Clothes-You'll have 3or4 chances to wear them.
Something to wear and protect the cold winter in Japan.
Alcohol of your country-we are having them at the drinking party during the short trip
Favorite CD of your country if you have
Cooking meal of your country-we will ask you to make the meal.Things that couldn't be found probably in Japan, please bring them
Cultural performance- please prepare somthing that will presented.
