Welcome to Japan, I have been looking forward to seeing you all in this summer program, which is sure to be one of the best summers I have ever had. Once the program starts, it does not matter if you are a member of the I.I.R. or not. What matters most is your willingness to develop lifetime bonds of friendship through this excellent opportunity. Let's break the ice and get to know each other. There are two things which I would like to ask of you. First, I will do all my best to make your stay enojoyable and safe, but if there is anything which you feel unhappy with or not sure of, please do not hesitate to speak to any of us. Secondly, please try to communicate with many people because this program is an excellent opportunity to make a lot of friends. Let's make this summer full of excitement and happy memories of borderless friendship, which will last a lifetime.

First, we are going visit Meiji Jingu(Meiji Shrine) The Emperor Meiji is deified there. There is no religious meaning to go there. We hope all ES to see what is one of the most famous Japanese shrine is like. Ifll be glad if you feel the atmosphere at the shrine. One more thing to check is the people who are dressing up as a favorite character from comic, etc. That is one of Japanese subculture. Second, we walk through the gTakeshita Streeth which is famous and popular to younger people. Third, we are going to eat Okonomiyaki and Monjayaki at the casual restaurant. These are kinds of traditional Japanese dishes. You can eat as possible as you can. Forth, we are going to Roppongi to go to the Suntory museum to see exhibition of gKosodeh which is a kind of traditional Japanese clothes. Finally, we are going to another museum(The National Art Center Tokyo) to see exhibition of Kanji. It will be great pleasure if you enjoy our day!!

Chief: Sachiko Nakajima
@ Hi this is gCross-cultural Dayh!! Wefre going to learn and talk about cultures of each exchange students. We prepare two topics for discussion, first: how the image of one country different from the image other countries have. As for Japan, most of the foreigners make images of traditional temples or shrines, sometimes the ancient people, Samurai. But the true image of modern Japan is not like that. Secondly, wefll discuss the perspectives toward love and marriage. Also, we do offer you an opportunity to see the Japanese traditional sports and art. As sports, youfll have chance to see Aiki-do and Kyu-do which are one of the traditional sports. Japanese famous and popular play, Kabuki, is possible to enjoy on this day!! Wefre really looking forward to see you all and talk a lot with us!! We do offer you a spectacular dayc

We are looking forward to seeing you!

Political Day Aug 4th (Mon)

Chief: Tatsuhiro Nagatsuka
One of the fascinations of the Political Day is that we can enjoy our fill of Japanese politics. In the morning, we will visit the National Diet of Japan. Then in the afternoon, we will visit the Yasukuni Shrine. The National Diet of Japan is not only known for determining policies, but also for its impressive architecture. Since it is uneasy to obtain an entering permission for personal visits, it will sure be a valuable experience to see the House of Representatives. Yasukuni Shrine is a spot which takes diplomatic issues of Japan. It is a shrine that was established to commemorate and honour the achievement of those who died in wars. By visiting these two places, we hope that you will have a clear understanding of Japanese politics and Eastern Asian diplomatic issues. Please look forward to it!
